“Nordeste Criativo” e desenvolvimento regional: esboço de uma metodologia para o fomento da economia criativa no nordeste brasileiro

This articles begins with a reflection on the meanings of development and its connections with creativity and innovation. The research is structured over two main axes: the first one deals with the concept of creative industries and with the report of its potential in generating economic, cultural, social and technological positive impacts in order to leverage the international and the domestic trade; the second axe introduces the concept of “creative basin” in order to redesign the boundaries of the Brazilian northeast territory. From those axes it is introduced and proposed the Creative Northeast Program, which consists of two projects: the Center for Creative Industries in the northeastern region of Brazil; and the Creative Business Bureau. Additionally, the research proposes an outline of mapping methodology focused on the Brazilian Northeast, supported by the concepts of creative territories and creative basins.
